You receive additional points for capturing letters on the board.

Click your mouse's left button when positioned over a tile to pick it up; the cursor will change to the letter on the tile. Click your mouse's left button when positioned over a blank square to drop a tile; the cursor will change to the default arrow cursor.

You do NOT have to hold the left mouse button down to drag a tile: just click to pick a tile up and click to put a tile down.

There are 3 letter pools. The common pool holds 100 tiles from which the trays are initially filled and then refilled. Each player also has a separate captured-tiles pool into which tiles he or she captures are placed.

You use the letters in your tray to form horizontal and vertical words crossword-fashion on a 15 x 15 board.

The first word must consist of two or more tiles placed across the center square horizontally or vertically.

When you place new tiles on either side of one or more tiles already on the board (left/right or above/below), the tile or tiles are captured (removed from the board) and your score is increased by the letter-points of the captured tiles.

The score for a valid word is (1) the sum of the letter-points of the primary word and all new cross-words, (2) captured-tile points and (3) any bonus points.

OWE = 6 letter points + 4 capture points (W) = 10 points total.

You can capture using more than two new tiles: the new tiles S, E and S capture the old tiles T and W. STEWS = 8 letter points + 5 capture points (T & W) = 13 points total.

The captured tiles go into your captured-tiles pool. When a tray is refilled after a move or an exchange, the letters are drawn randomly from the common pool and your captured-tiles pool.

If you use all seven tiles in your tray to form a word (sometimes called a bingo), the total points for the play are doubled.

If you place a word on the board and choose the menu item "Help | Calculate Word's Points" the points for the play will be calculated for you.

At the end of the game penalty points equal to the sum of the letter-points of the tiles in each player's tray (if any) are subtracted from each player's score (if at least one scoring move has been made).

The player with the highest score at the end of a game is the winner.
